I draw on the properties and possibilities of the materials I work with and connect them to themes and concepts that appeal to me. For me, art and making are a way of perceiving the world in its simplicity and complexity at the same time. I work in the field of studio jewellery, object and painting. I interweave the planes of thought, emotion and reflection, reducing and abstracting them to create new connections that I find in the process.
Through my work I transform ordinary things into extraordinary. Every piece I create is carefully considered. The process begins with intense research and reflection on the subject matter. I look for themes in the things of everyday life. Often these are inconspicuous moments or objects.
I capture moments that are often overlooked and bring them to life with my vision and understanding. I look for a relationship and a path between the contrasts of our time, conveying the peace that is disappearing in the current fragmentation.
I want the audience to feel involved, to find something personal in my work, to inspire questions, to push them to find what their needs are, to slow them down and maybe even stop them for a moment. I want my work to be not only seen, but felt and experienced.
